Do you have a clear bra or not?

i never understood these things...what are they?? I never opted for a 'bra' on any of my cars (the ugly black leather ones you see on most dated cars). Can anyone show me apicture of these things, how much would one set me back??

seriously you cant see it if you are not looking for it. Best 6 hundred I have spent in a while.
You definitely cant see unless you are looking for it. The only part that really shows is the line of where it ends on your hood. But even that is hard to see unless you look for it.
I just bought one off ebay for $40 i think
I figured it wouldn't be that big of a loss if I mucked it up. I would just peel it off and consider it a loss.
But I will take my time and install with a hair dryer getting it around the edges etc. However, I don't know how 'thin' this clear bra will be so it might be useless.
I also bought their window tints for $35

Big fan of clearbra.
4 years later and my front end looks great. No chips and no problems from dried bug crap left on for a short while. I wouldn't buy it from eBay. Most of that stuff is not 3M. The old rule about getting what you pay for definitely applies here and as mentioned above the installer is crucial to a seamless finish. Good ones are hard to come by. There is also this. Chances are it will eventually become the industry standard simply because the ease of application assures good fitment in nooks and crannys.

i live in utah near mines, and i work at an engineering firm located on a heavily traveled industrial road. gravel trucks arent cited for breaking things; they just buy a windshield if you call em and call it all even. they put 2-3 chips in my new car within weeks of buying it. i was pissed for a while, but now its a more calm anger
i'm planning to just buy a body kit and repaint the car in a few years, after we move. if i had a clear bra, i still hit large enough gravel chips now and then that i think i'd end up with 1-2 chipped paint bubbles under the stupid thing here and there and wonder why i bothered. i have two 'chips' that flaked off paint chunks the size of a fingernail. they're right where the front spoiler covers, so i may just get one and hide the chips, but i'd probably just get more chips on the spoiler, so i've thrown my hands up in the air...
if i lived/worked in a more 'normal' environment, i'd have been very interested in a clear bra, even though i really dont like the ALMOST invisible line. stupid, i know, but it bugs me.
also, a question: (asking b/c mine is NFR and red seems to fade faster than other colors), would the red would fade more quickly because i couldnt wax the paint under the bra? i only wonder that because a previous red car that had a cheap paint job faded, and i wondered if the previous owner never waxed it and that accelerated the fading.
