Do you have a clear bra or not?

I had it installed within 3 days of purchasing my 05. I also have it installed on my 07 TL-S. I would seriously consider the Body Armor if I need to have repairs done to either car.

I really wish the previous owner had done it to mine.. it's covered in little rock chips.

I've had bumpers repainted several times on cars in the past, and from my experience the paint does not adhere to the bumper well on a repaint job. There's no question that a good clean flawless bumper with original paint is better than a repainted bumper.
i really have to second this one. i had the dealership repaint my bumper due to some minor scratches on the bottom wheni bought it from them. i regret doing this because the repaint seems cheap and the paint seems thin. now i have more chips than the moon has craters! moral of the story: get clearbra. dont get it repainted.

I know of several people that have clear bras, but I don't know of anyone thats had it for 4+ years. Anyone here have had a clear bra on any car for 4+ years and removed it? There has to be some variation in paint color once the bra is removed. The difference in UV protection and breathability of a bra compared to no bra has to eventually take a toll on the paint.

Please share your experiences if you have any.

I like the idea of the clear bra (oh, and they're a good idea for the car as well . .), but I went the "ugly black" route. I used it a lot when the car was really new. I haven't used it in quite a long time, but I'm also driving the car only in the summer and only on really nice days. I've had no noticable rock dings yet and I guess I lean toward the repaint if needed crowd. (Anyone want to buy a slightly used Colgan Bra??)

Now if they made a good clear cover for the cheap (gl)ass, windshield, I'd jump at it.

See my post at the top of the page. As for the paint looking different when you remove the clear bra, why would you remove it?

I've had my 3M Clear bra installed on my SUV since summer 2002 when it was brand new. Nearly 6 year later and it's holding up fantastic! It's a dark paint colour and you cannot notice it unless you are literally up close.

I had it in my previous S, and not my current one.

The clear film doesn't look so good when you walk up close to the car. But then, when you see that the bumper has literally over 20 rock chips (which I do on my GPW now)? Then ya, you will understand why you need a clear bra
