Do you Leave your S2000 outside?
Sup,
I am getting ready to buy an S2000 just havent found the right one yet. My point of this thread is just to ask you guys who own S2000's how many of you guys park them outside? I had a garage since i been driving but last year i moved out and dont have a garage. I am trying to see how safe the car really is outside i sold my hatch over the fact i knew it wouldnt last outside but thats a whole different car. I always wanted a Integra Type R but that wouldnt last a week outside. So just gimme an idea on how many of you guys leave them outside and if you ever have any problems? Thanx in advance peace

How safe outside? Like environmental or criminal standpoint? I have left mine outside alot in the past just usually try to avoid parking under trees and been in the shadw and dont really have many problems. As for criminal standpoint, lol, people know im trigger happy and keep a 2way alarm so i havnt had many issues there either.

I have a 2 car garage, but I'm a college student as well. On campus I try to just be smart about it. It's all about keeping it out of sight from drunk groups for me, so I just do what I can to make the car hidden. Have you looked into theft systems?

From a theft standpoint, not great. The softtop can be cut, so that means a First grade student with a pair of safety scissors can get into it. Once in, they usually go for the seats. If you get one, definately get an alarm system too.
For some reason the seats are popular. They get stolen and sold on ebay or put into a civic or something. The radio is protected with a code, but either way, its not worth stealing. Full insurance usually replaces the seats and top, so make sure and get full coverage.

There really isn't a theft problem with S2Ks as they have the immobilizer and the car's parts like the engine can't readily be used in other cars...that's why the ITR never lasted.
The seats are very often stolen, though.
