Do you Leave your S2000 outside?
Honestly, I disasgree about the insurance side of the story.
I would not go as far as saying that I wouldn't care if someone slashes the top. *knock on the wood* If theft happens, I would need to go through the hassle of paying the deductible and not having a car to use while they repair the top. Since you are parking the car outside, it probably means you won't be able to use the car when the car's sitting inside the shop waiting for the parts to come. Same goes for the seats. So, even if the deductible were free, there is the inconvenience factor that you would need to think about.
On the other hand, leaving the car out 24/7 -- i.e. exposing the car to UV and acid from rain much more that a car parked in the garage -- would wear out the soft top much quicker. And since you are parking the car outside, then you would not be able to tolerate any hole in the top. All of this would force you to "condition" your soft top a lot more often, because you wouldn't want to shell out over 1.5K to get the top replaced.
With that said, a hardtop would lower the incentive for a thief to go for your car, as well as making your maintenance job much easier.
As for the S2000 itself, it's generally prone to theft imo

Sup,
Well i have $250 deductibles and thats an inconvience in itself. I will be keeping my 99 sentra limited with me and not going to sell it so i would have another car. I totally understand though and on top of that insurance premium might go up as well. I will probably install an aftermarket alarm and lo-jack. I guess i dont set up the car the way i want until i move back into my house in miami. Ill keep it as stock as possible. Thanx for all the input guys appreicate it peace.

"Sup,
See i sold my hatch for these reasons because of theft. I would get full coverage of course i had full coverage on my hatch as well. I live in Orlando, FL where theives live and prey on hondas non stop."
You answered your own question with that statement. Nothing we say is going to make that any better. And I also disagree about getting Lojack. You really wouldn't want this car back if it was stolen would you? I wouldn't! My wife's Accord was stolen and taken on a joy-ride. It was recovered and never the same. Besides, you don't get much of a discount on your insurance with Lojack.
Good luck with your decision, and welcome to the board.

Me personally, I would never park my s2000 outside. My old civic I had when i first got my liscence was broken into 3 times in my driveway. I live in a very upstanding and respectable neighborhood too. I figure the car will stay looking nicer and have less threat of being broken into if I just take the extra time and pull it in the garage before i go to bed each night. If you dont have a garage though, I would say get a nice alarm system and pray you dont have any trouble. Either that or become meighbors with a cop, nobody has messed with my civic, or well my brother's civic now, since the cop moved in next door.

I have had my garage for 4 years now, I do not have a garage door opener, so everytime I get home i have to get out of the car and open the garage and drive in. I have never put any of my cars in the garage untill I got the S. It helps so much with keeping it clean(Berlina Black), warmup, and of course concealment. I so badly want to move to a loft in the city but the lack of a garage has me rethinking my options.
I wish I had a garage to park it in
Mine is outside all year round. The top is getting to a point where I have one patched hole (pretty small) and cracks forming in another part. It is 5 years old. I kind of expected the top to last about that long. I just started putting a car cover over it since I added the CF goodies. It actually looks really conspicuous under the cover because of the MG wing.
