If even a window is open regardless of what car it is and theres a hose nearby kids just turn on the hose and put it in your car. Well.. thats where I live anyways. I've had my gas tank cover popped and $7 worth of gas stolen from me thats how desperate some are, though I doubt the guy who stole my gas even knew how much gas was in my car. In the world we live in today I wouldn't trust the average 12 year old knowing what a rascal I used to be in my earlier ages..

The only time I don't lock my S is when I park it in my garage.

the real question is

why wouldnt u lock your car?

if u park your car u usually should find a place filled with people to park so it would be obvious if someone was cutting your top in half and u rather have them just come up to the car and open it and take off with it?

Past experiece with a gaggle of MGBs/Midgets/BugEyes suggested it wasn't a good idea to lock those cars... if the local turd wants whats inside he's going to get it one way or another (cut top)... since you fine folks have made me somewhat mindful of the fact that there are folks who like our seats, shift knobs, etc. as much as we do I've decided not to leave anything worth taking in my car and not locking it... way too many words to ask you... do you lock it or just leave it? Oh yeah. got them seat locks, thanks for the tip!
While you're at it, you should leave the keys in to boot.

The S on the other hand got an alarm with a 2-way pager within a couple weeks of me buying it. It stays locked all the time and I hang the key and remote on a thumbtack on my wall. If it gets messed with in the middle of the night the vibrating/beeping will wake me up so I can go check on things.
wow... where the heck you live?
thats horrible...
well i have a navi in the car so i lock it :]
but i cant imagine not locking your car there is some random stranger digging through ur change box and digging through ur car etc..
