If I leave the top down, I only lock the center console, but if I have the top up, I lock it.

Yes, there are very scandaleous people like kids that arn't what you would call car thieves that go door checking just to find unlocked doors and rummage through your things. They don't carry any tools they are just looking to score something they find in your car worth value and sell it.

This is nice, now thieves browsing our forums will know who keeps their car unlocked... Are you trying to make it easier for someone to steal your crap? come on guys/gals THINK ABOUT IT.

Some people could be tempted to steal only on the fact that they tried your door handle to find it was UNLOCKED! Anyone looking on could easily assume, "since he just opened the door, it must be his car."

this is so stupid. lock your car. now im just pissed.

leaving it unlocked might solve the slashed top problem. but on the other hand, it makes the car vulnerable to a greater range of opportunists/kids/trouble makers who would otherwise just skip a locked car or wouldnt even bother with cutting the top.

How do they know it's unlocked? Do they go around pulling door handles?
most the time they dont pull handles but you will catch them on occasion.
