Chris I believe you have the 285/30/18 on the rear. That's 11.3" of tire. Your rim is 10.5" wide. Don't be modest with those phat meats on the rear.

*...i ask to many questions, but i want personal expiereince sorry if i annoy anyone*

how about the mugen exhaust, i heard it doesnt really add any power unless put on well (or some sh*t like that) yet very light. does this affect vtec (i love vtec too much to lose)

I think any exhaust or header that is designed toward beefing up the sub-VTEC powerband less than the VTEC powerband will cause you to lose the VTEC sensation. Whether it's the Mugen exhaust or header or combo that does this, I'm not sure, but I have ridden in Prolene's car back when it was totally Mugen-equipped, and the power delivery was pretty smooth all the way up. Reecespieces S2K which is equipped with Spoon exhaust & header also feels the same way (if I remember correctly).

Mingster,

Maybe you're just getting used to the surge, so it doesn't seem that big anymore. I'm still stock, and notice the surge is still there, but I must be getting used to it, since it doesn't really kick me back in my seat anymore. I'm probably anticipating the vtec point and am preparing myself for the surge.

Shucks,

My car is completely stock, with 7.5K miles on it.
I just put in 0/30 Mobil1 (which works very well for my wife's Accord and my Integra). I've also noticed smoother VTEC engagement as opposed to the factory 10/30 oil.
Does VTEC really require a higher viscosity oil to "push" it into engagement? I thought that was controlled by electronics depending on engine RPM, etc.
I'll put 10/30 Mobil1 in next time to see if things are back to factory feel.
