Doe the OEM car cover protect during winter?
Unfortunatley I rent and therefore do not have a garage. If the S is left outside during the winter with the OEM cover on(don't plan on driving it), will this suffice or are there better car covers.

Ya, dust covers really live up to their name outdoors. Whenever I pull mine off the car is covered with trapped dust.
As soon as the weather changes I'm going to get a Weathershield from Covercraft. That seems to be the best for us alfresco owners. Other options I've considered are those temp garages. Some can be had for fairly cheap and as long as you secure them against uprooting and damaging the car in a windstorm all should be well. There's a lot of other wacky stuff out there, including a big blowup clear bubble you can put your car beneath, but I think a simple weatherproof cover should suffice during the off months. A final consideration is canvassing your neighbors for anyone with a single car but a two car garage who would let you store it cheaply for a few months.
