Oh yeah to answer your question several are running low 12's with turbo and heavy tuning and internals. For 10k it could be done if ya installed everything yourself.

 

My car will do a quarter mile is well under 11s.

I can only make one run though as the stopping is a little drastic.

You too can have a car that will do 1/4 mi in under 11s. Just drop it off a 1/4 mi high cliff.

My S is stock. I don't drag race it, but if that's what you like, thats what you like. I don't quite understand why you would buy a sportscar for drag racing, but again, if thats what you like go for it.

I agree with Greg (ItalianBucwheat). Before you decide that the car is slow take it through the paces it was built for. Greg's routes are good. You might want to try Sussex Turnpike between Morristown and Succasunna late at night. Or, you might want to try Route 24 to I78 to Newark Airport (just watch for cops).

I think you might discover how very good the car is.

 

I think we're dealing with the Law of Relativity here.
Being able to cover the 1/4 mile in less than 12 secs gets you that much closer to the speed of light and we all know that the faster we can cover distance, the more that mass increases. Heck, if you can get past the 1/4 mile mark before the clock hits 12 secs, your dick grows 0.00000000000001 mm. For some people, this is quite an increase.

 

Ok this will be the last post that I post in the main forum because im dealing with a bunch of morons who know next to nothing, are talking out of their asses, also who are very one sided.

When I was on the Rx7 forum and the NEMKIV forum, you can have multiple opinions. On here it seems that its S2k all the way and if you dont agree that the cars the best than you get rants about it.

Im not going to call out names on this but I skimmed the replys to see what was said and what not and i'll just respond to some of them.

A. A toyota supra with a full exhaust and the waste gate hose off (or instead of the waste gate off a boost controller in its place to be a little more controlled and acurate) Will DEFINATELY run 12's. Been there done that. From first hand experience im speaking and im not speaking (like some of you) (NOT ALL but some) talking out of my ass. Full exhaust on a supra lets say you get used parts, rod millen downpipe and 3 or 4 inch exhaust you figure about MAYBE 1,000 at most. You can use ANYTHING bent to fit so it doesnt have to even cost 200 if you dont want to spend the money. Ok so thats that.
B. An FD has more potential than any of these cars spoken about on here. WRX, S2000, Supra, 350z, 300zx, vr-4. You dont see any of those cars in the 9 second range. Maybe a couple supra's but not many. FD doesnt need as much horse to get it there. FD is more expensive to mod up than a supra, a supra is strong from the get go and an Rx7 is unreliable at best which is why I dont own mine anymore.
C. I dont rip on the S2000, and for the guy who said "he posts all over the board blahblahblah" The whole point of this board is to learn from others experiences or we wouldnt have a purpose of speaking. If I drag or not, and I wanted to know if anyone on here had a fast S2k its a simple question. If I went on to the supra board and ask you'd have people raising their hands just answering Yes, and how.
D. I think I will catch shit for this one, but ALOT of the members who posted in this thread are not a far shot from Civic owners. I've seen alot of people just ranting and ranting. In other words, younger crowd that really dont know very much about the cars, not that I do but I dont claim to, which is why I ask questions. On the other hands the supra guys are usually an older crowd, mechanics and such who answer questions and whatever. Rx7's are mixed, you get alot of younger guys but you also have the Rotary heads on there who know their stuff well.
E. As far as the guy who says he can beat a supra or Rx7 on a road course. Check your numbers buddy, the Rx7 pulled better than the S2k ever will, and so did the supra right along with it. Not only was it faster stock for stock, but every aspect was better as well. Supras= bullet proof you can spike 20 something pounds on a stock motor and turbo's and be fine, Rx7s again are unreliable and more tempermental.
F. Im scared away comment. Yeah I am, I think its rediculous to come into a forum asking something like who has what in here, and getting dumb ass replys like im getting here. Some people in here replied to the question but others just ranted at it. I didnt nessesarily do my homework on this car, I liked the look and I bought it for a convertable. Also girlfriend / mom didnt want me to spend much, so I went with this one. If I had my way i'd sit in an NSX right now with no problems.

In all I do agree that this is a nice cruising car. Im used to RIPPING on corvettes and whatever on the highway and its just not happening with this thing. It does have its advantages and disadvantages. Overall im pretty happy with the car, Please excuse the reply being drawn out but im half asleep and basically just replying to a bunch of ignorant comments and whatever.

By no means do I have 100 HP stickers on my car. Unlike alot of you...... By no means do I claim to have a fast car because that id definately not a selling point. Car is definately not "ricey" as you guys say, its fully stock with a pretty quiet exhaust. Mint condition with 15k miles on the car. So if its rice than so is yours.

Anyhow for the people who responded with reasonable things to say, thanks for the info i'll keep that in mind, for the others.. Go screw yourselves.

 

Man, pretty touchy. I'll just say a couple of little things. I know you won't respond cause you're done with us Civic owning pieces of dung. Here's a link you should check out: www.speedventures.net. They have the most S2000's of any group that come out regularly to their track events. Something you'll notice if you go there: NO SUPRAS. Not many RX7's either. I don't know about the Supras but the RX7's I've seen there have a lot of trouble just keeping the cars running. Now, if you check out the results section you'll see that the S2K is in the top 2-3 of almost every event. We get beat by Vipers and/or Vettes on occasion with a good driver but that's about it. In closing, I wish you well on your project Yugo. I hope the S2K engine fits well. And I'm glad you're more a show guy than a go guy. Some might get the impression that go was important to you from some of your threads.

 

ok, reply or not i could care less. like i said, pulling a hose will not put you into the LOW 12s. maybe the HIGH 12s, but not the LOW. and if you pull the hose, it is recommended that race gas be used.

 

its a f*ing S2000 site! you are the only moron here! the S was made for a reason and its not drag racing. when you go bashing it and saying all this other crap about how this car is so fast and that car is so fast, WHOOPADEEFREAKINDOO!!! obviously you have more money than you know what to do with so you thought buying an S would be "fast car " that you would look good in so you went out and bought one, now you're all pouty because its not as fast as you thought it would be. tell you what i can solve all these problems, i know the car is slow so just give it to me and then you wont have to deal with it anymore. you can go back to farting around with your holy supras, and you'll never see it again, problem solved!
