what is bling factor actually worth?
what does driving an expensive car really bring you? does driving a porsche/SL etc mean you make more friends? get hook ups? women flock to you? people just turning their heads to look at you? what do you think the bottom line is? do s2k owners really lose out by not owning something more prestigious?
thanks
thanks
personally i think this is pretty a pretty prestigious car. Stock it might not be as flashy, but with a few mods it can certainly be (I think my car has some bling
). It's a car to be driven unlike many of the cars you are describing. You shouldn't care what other people think about your car, as long as you love it, then that's all that matters.

no question it would be pathetic to acquire friends by car. but still, i wonder what people really gain at the end of the day by driving those cars, besides attention by the passing public.
the driving experience in itself should be paramount. I would much rather drive a less expensive car that's more sporty than a much more expensive car whose intentions are not. ie. I would probably enjoy a cheap $50k Lotus Elise more than a $90k Porsche Cayenne turbo. I went from a BMW to a Honda. BMW is more prestigious and most of my friends considered that move a downgrade, but I could care less.

Yes, those cars have certain value to owning them that the S does not. If you had $100,000 to spend on a car, I would venture to guess that most all S owners would not buy the S first. They may get one, but I don't think that would be their first choice. I know it wouldn't be mine and I love my S.
If you put a S along side a 911, SL, C6, NSX, M6, and a Viper, most people would not pick the S first as their choice. I wouldn't. It is a great car, but it isn't the end all of cars that people on this site seem to want to make it out to be.
I love my S and have made GREAT friends because of my S (the Sacramento group comes to mind), but many people have moved on (some may said even moved up) to other cars for one reason or another.
Modifying a S will add to it's 'bling' factor, but then moding any car will do the same. Heck, I have seen MANY mods to the S that had just the opposite effect in my opinion.
There's my 2 cents.

Again and again, people come up to me and say, "what kind of car is that?" Or "nice car" Fact is, this car is straight up sexy
I think this car is so prestigious, it stays in my garage while I take my other car to work. My S is too good to take to work and sit in the parking lot all day. I never leave it anywhere, not even a grocery store parking lot.
Although I think this car is prestigious, that is not why I purchased it. I purchased it because I love to drive the way a sportscar was meant to be driven. Although it is nice when I get the thumbs up from a group of kids who think the S2000 is a bitchen car.

There are 5 million Mustang's, Camaro's and Porsche 911's out there. There are only 40 thousand or so S2000's in the United states. Fact is, everyone has seen a 911, a bitchen Mustang or a hot Camaro, but not everyone has seen an S2000.
