Does anyone skip gears when just cruising?
So, after all that reading on other posts, I saw a question asked that I didn't really see a definitive answer to.
Can I row through the gears with the clutch pushed in to alleviate this potential problem. What I mean is, can i push in the clutch in 3rd, select 4th, then 5th and then let out the clutch?

its not really for the time savings, but more so the convenience when it seemed unnecessary to cycle through all the gears.

Shrike, I didn't mean "I cant believe its bad to skip gears" so literally, like: I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT. I meant it in surprise and disbelief that here I have been skipping gears like crazy for the last 2 months. I have read and understand everything I've read perfectly, I am simply asking what should be done instead of shifting from 2nd to 6th in the situation I have described.
Also, I'll assume that you were being extremely rude because you misunderstood my post...

It seems that I did misunderstand it. I think "extremely rude" is an overbid, but I also was a bit too aggressive. Sorry.
[QUOTE=Dmitri1979,Apr 10 2005, 05:22 PM] Most of the time I really don't mind how often I have to shift because the ratios are so close together (with the S2000 gearbox, it's a joy), but occassionally I feel conservative and skip gears.
