WORK warantee is 1 year from purchase date,

SECOND,

your wheels are the CHEAPEST wheels work makes, no way shape or form are they forged, their simply cast.

THIRD

you bought them grey market, i.e. not from a dealer but from a friend.

THE WARRANTEE ON WORKS STRICTLY STATES FROM MANUFACTURERS DEFECTS, YOU NOR THEM KNOW IF ITS MANUFACTURERS DEFECTS BECAUSE A PERSON OWNED THEM BEFORE YOU AND YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY DID TO THEM.

so before you get on your high horse trying to make work wheels look bad,

buy nicer rims, not bottom line wheels
buy new from a dealer so u can have warrantee
calm down and just buy a new one, their like 310 msrp... like cheap as hell, call evasive and talk to mike/ed

So well said Riley.......

First off I don't know why you are so upset - just cuz you have an issue you expect all of us to jump on your side for the sake of "helping out the community"??? That is a nice ruse but I don't see it.

Work rims are awesome wheels and I've owned 3 sets now....if you buy new from a legitimate dealer you would avoid some of the problems you are having.

Plus wheels DO CRACK sometimes since we all drive on different types of roads!

If it was a $1000 wheel, you might have a case but on a cheap $310 rim, just go buy youself a new one and be done with it.

I love my set of Work rims and will buy from them many times over

I think the original posters main point was that they originally told them they would help. Then turned around and said that they wouldn't. But, I think most of us agree, that in this instance Work/AKH is in it's full rights to do what they did. The fact is the wheel is out of warranty, move on.
The way I read it is this:

1. MFG date on the rim is no measure on when it was purchased. Rims are not milk. They do not "spoil" on the shelf.

2. The distributor agreed to help, even after the situation was explained to them. What I expect is that they expected that the new owner would not be able to get ahold of the original receipt. That way, they can look good and seem fair.

3. If it is a "cheap" wheel, and the defect *is* a manufacturer's defect, they should try to do something. Even if it is replacement for free, at cost, or at a discount.

Yes, they also don't have to do anything at all. I still live in the delusional world where trying to make the customer happy (or make my company look good to consumers) is desirable.

To me it would be how do you prove that was a manufacturer's defect? The only thing we know is that it's over a year old. It could have seen thousands of miles of road abuse for all they know. His alignment guy told him he doesn't seen any obvious signs of impact, but unless his guy knows the exact amount of pressure that wheel can take, it doesn't make him an expert.

I'd like to say that sucks, but you're out of warranty and bought second hand. They really don't have to do anything.

First off you need to fix your spelling and grammar if you're intending for people to understand you and assist you.

Also as most people have already stated, I don't think you're in the position to complain about the customer service of Work Wheels. Your problem is far beyond their reach and they simply cannot do anything about it. That crack to me sure does not seem like a manufacturer's defect, especially by looking at the condition of the wheels. Your wheels are out of warranty, you bought it from somebody that may have been sold and bought repeated times, and it has taken abuse. Nothing anyone can do here buddy.

That sucks that happend... SOMETHING must of been done to the wheel before or after you purchased it to cause that. Then again the wheels are CAST. I don't think you should generalize all WORK wheels like this. There isn't enough definite and separate occurrences to come to a conclusion that WORK wheels are bad. My Meister's have been treating me good. And i don't exactly treat them well. If one ever cracked i'd just buy another one. Bite the bullet and buy one wheel or just sell the rest and buy something else.

You bought used wheels and they cracked. The warranty has expired already so this is a closed case. I would honestly move on. There is no need for the entire thread as its a waste of space.

Personally I would buy a new one. They are like $250 or so a piece. They are in everyones budget . Thats why you see used sets go for under $1000 for all 4 with tires.

Anyway its not AKHs fault or Work USA/Japan, infact its nobodies fault. They are old wheels that cracked from hitting a hole or whatever.

Regardless if they said they would cover your wheel or not, they are in their right not to, so they didnt. Not much else to say.

Give Mike a call at Evasive and buy a new one.

Although your correct about them being cast and cast wheels tend to crack with time and age, so do forged wheels. Infact I saw a set of Work Emotion forged 16 crack by hitting a pothole. Infact it was a clean crack right through one of the spokes. Wheel was totally ruined. The cast ones would have cracked too. So forged does not always mean better as 95% of the owners on this site think. Thats a fact.

95% of the owners here think that a BBK will help improve stop distances too.
