Doors automatically locking
I don't think it's a selectable feature, it's been built into Hondas for almost 20 years. I've never heard or read of any way to disable the feature, I think it's built into the vehicle programming.
to the OP....
i think you have the same alarm as me... its the honda genuine alarm accessory. I read up on the system. after 30 seconds your car locks and alarm activates automatically.. mine does it and i share your hatred towards it... its soo annoying.
as far as ive read, the alarm modules location according to the instructions, is under the driver seat. on the alarm module itself there is a switch that will turn of the auto lock function.
i havnt had time to look for mine yet, but take a look see if yours has it

All Honda keyless entry systems do this, as far as I know. It's not just the special accessory "alarm" systems.
Anyway, I am sometimes annoyed by this, but it is there for your protection. If you accidentally hit the unlock button when you mean to lock and walk away from the car, the car will still lock. And more importantly, if you sit on your keys at home while the car is in the driveway and it unlocks, it can lock itself back up so it doesn't sit unlocked until you realize what you've done.

If you unlock the car, then open the door, then close it, the car should not lock itself unless you press the button. The car only auto locks if it has not had the door open. Like Thomsbrain said, it is like a safety feature.
My brothers car had a bad door sensor so it never knew when the door was open to turn on the lights or make this feature work correctly. So he locked his keys in his car a few times because the car would auto lock itself even after he had gotten in the car.

I think that the "autolock" feature is on all S2000's versus being on only ones with alarms.
I know about the trick of opening the door to disable it but basically my situation is this: I'm walking to the car with a bunch of stuff in my arms and I open the trunk. In this case the car is still technically locked, so when I close the trunk the proximity sensor is triggered and my alarm goes off. So the only way for me to circumvent this is to open the driver's door before I open the trunk which is a PIA if I'm carrying stuff.
All Honda/Acura keyless entry systems do this, as far as I know. It's not just the special alarm systems. Sometimes I am annoyed by this, but it is there for our protection.
If you accidentally hit the unlock button when you mean to lock and walk away from the car, the car will still re-lock.
