I assume that when you're doing this, the first push on the clutch pedal is pretty quick and minimal -- not all the way to the floor. It's pretty easy to pull a car out of gear with just a little action on the clutch. Right?

I can see that with practice you could get pretty quick at double clutching, so -- what is the best way to practice this (besides starting out slowly and deliberately and working up from there)? I've got an '80 280ZX, maybe I should start out on that?

Another question -- how do most people 'blip' the throttle? By this I mean, do you roll your foot and use the (right) side to touch the gas, or the heel, or ... ?

I'd say half and half. I do both.

If I'm just normal driving, and wanna rev-match into a lower gear, I'll have my first two toes on the brake, and simply roll my foot over to blip the throttle.

At the track, though, I have all 5 toes on the brake pedal, so to rev-match I rotate my whole foot and blip the throttle with my heel. One of my friends actually brakes with his heel and blips with his toes - how he manages that I have no idea.

That might work for me, actually, as my feet are big enough that they are kind of at an angle down there, like this: / Will have to go sit out in the car and see what is possible.

I put the "ball" of my foot on the brake and only rotate my foot minimally.
