well I have had all sorts of nightmare stories about poor service by the service department, but personally I have had nothing but fair and excellent treatment by them. I guess it depends on the dealership....

Even my Z28 has 110,000 miles with only reasonable parts replacement(warranty distributor, water pump, battery, clutch at 85k, needs a rear end soon.)
Jim,
Is it me, or do you seem come across as angry and righteous??? What's up with this quote thing????
My point was, my past Hondas were trouble free, this one may or may not be, but I cannot get honda reps (dealers) to work with me any differently than my other vehicles. One possibility is because their other vehicles are low maintenance, no refernce was made to compare reliability to any other mfg, foreign or domestic.
"Gee whiz, these anecdotal assessments of quality sure can be misleading"
Just giving my experience, not right or wrong, just one of many. Isn't that what these boards are about?
Geez, chill out dude.

Chaz-
Something to keep in mind (regarding your dealer experience) is that Honda dealerships typically do suck. They've never ranked high on JD Powers' list for service as the cars have always sold themselves. You can generally get action by threatening (or following through) with getting in touch with the regional reps- check your owners' manual for the one near you.

. When (if) heputs his car for sale, don't buy it.
Back on topic. I had my '01 yellow for 9 months now, gone trough
several auto crosses and one driver's ed. event, and had
absolutely no problems with it whatsoever (10K miles and counting)
