is it downgrading?
"Ask the man who owns one".
I had a 1995 NSX-T, and I like my S2000 more. It is not an exotic and doesn't have the bling-bling BS, but it is a few hundred pounds lighter, and feels even more than that. The braking tops the NSX, and if you are a good stick man, the performance is only a few ticks below the NSX. The NSX scared me in that everything on it was so hard to fix if bent that i tended to grandmother it.
I love my S2000 - have done more mods in two months than i ever did on the NSX. The NSX is like an exotic lover - nice, but a bit distant and cool. The S2000 is like the cutest girl next door imaginable, who always pleases without putting on airs. One is a fling, the other a keeper.

Before i got my S, i was looking for my dream car the NSX. Test drove alot... my friend wanted an S2, so i went and test drove one with him. Then i test drove another NSX... didn't feel the same, felt like my prelude but lower (my prespective changed, guess)... Convertible is awsome, very nimble. Now I Can't live with out a conv't now. When ever my S2 breaks down years from now, I'll get another conv't.
WOW! great comment and suggestions. thanks guys. well, im actually deployed right now. im in the air force. and ill be here until about early June. so hopefully once i get back to states i can find someone who can take me for a ride. im really excited now. i wish i can get out of this tent city and just test drive and s2k for a day. oh well, ill just wait. thanks again guys.
i wasn't into convertibles AT ALL before i got my s2000. i really prefered a coupe version of the s2000 but i did bite the bullet and bought the s2000. all i can say now is life would be very different if the s2000 wasn't a convertible, that is why i am not getting a hardtop...i would miss taking the top down too much.
