Default S2000 Lifeline

Hey. I currently drive a 1998 Acura Integra GS. Not the quickest thing but it gets me around and great on gas. I'm really considering getting a S2000 but won't beable to get one for maybe another 3 years. I know its a little down the line but does anyone know if they will still be producing S2000 in a couple years?

If they do stop the production of the S2000, any idea what is going to replace it? Thanks.

3 years...probably not, but there will always be used ones floating around. As for a replacement yet, its all speculation. Rumors of a new NSX are floating around but nothing confirmed.

Yup, all rumors, nothing concrete from Honda themselves. Some magazines are saying the next gen will be priced to compete against the Miata meaning less power.

Automotive history proves one thing, It will be heavier, less focused, likely front drive, have more electronic "driving aids" and thanks to Honda ongoing effort to be ....green, have less power. I hope I am wrong. On the other hand, this may make our cars very valuable.

That may or may not be true. The world claims to be going "green" but it seems like most (if not most then many) cars are getting more power. Though I would absolutely agree with more driving aids than you can shake a stick at.

I heard it's actually going to have a SCS (stick control system) to avoid exactly that sort of thing.

It kinda sucks that to get a raw fun car now without aids you have to buy a $50K bare bones, single purpose track car that jusssst makes street legal requirements.

Someone needs to follow along now with the same soul as the S in a different form.

I hate to break the news to you, but they stopped producing the S2000 in 2003.

After that, it was the S2200 under an assumed name.
