Let me put it this way. Drag racing the S2000 is not any harder on it, or will cause any more problems than any other car...

IE, drag an MR2 and drag an S2000. It's not like the S2000 is going to die first... in fact it will probably still have less problems and outlast the MR2.

Some people have a problem with this or that, or snap their differential. But every car has its problems and every car has its stories.

I race a lot more than I should, and thus far have had no problems due to that (knock on wood)

IMHO, if you want a dragster, get a different car. The S2K is a handler, not a dragster, it wants twisties, not straight lines.

no car is a dragster. some just do better than others. i like to drag my s2k. what pisses me off is that every time a topic about drag racing our s2k comes up, idiots have to state stupid statements saying that the s2k is not a dragster and that it's not meant for that.

Don't feel bad Dario, I'm an idiot also. I suppose idiot is preferable to lamer, but then again, what does an idiot know?

I suppose I should have been more clear- I bought the S2K because I have always wanted a classic roadster. In my younger days when I wanted a dragster, I had a '65 GTO that was heavily modified and very fast in the 1/4.

I've matured since then.

I think most would agree that the S2K was not designed to be a dragster.

But then again, I am an idiot, and these forums frighten and confuse me...

I don't want to sound like a smart ass, but if you wanted a dragster when you were young and a roadster, why didn't you get a convertible Vette or Viper? Plenty of horses and much better handling than cars of the past.

The GTO was definitely my first love.

Being 18, I really hadn't matured as a car lover to realize there were other options out there.

No Viper because I just don't have the money! Hell, I had to save for two years just to get the S2k!

Now that I'm older, I appreciate the complexity of driving that a roadster offers. Straightline G Forces are great, but the 25-65 acceleration to the next hairpin is what makes my day.

Another idiot here.
Nowadays, people are just too quick to judge others...and it seems like they watch one too many movies like Fast and Furious and get too hot and bothered coming out of the theater.

Anyways, I guess I'll try to stick to original question:

[QUOTE]the mr2 is a roadster and people drag the hell out of it with no problem.

i'm not calling you guys idiots for using the car for twisties (which it does really well). i'm calling you an idiot for flaming others who decide to drag race their s2k's. your right, the car does better on the twisties, but it doesn't mean that it can't be drag raced. every time someone posts something about drag racing, you guys have to go and make stupid comments.
