sorry to hear about your accident. I am curious, how fast were you going at the time and what was the posted speed limit?

I don't think anyone was suggesting that a winter tyre would definitely have prevented the accident, at least in my case the point was that the S-02 tyre is not designed for nor suited to those sorts of conditions. It is a fact that using winter tyres is safer in those conditions than using S-02 tyres. Maybe it would have made enough difference, maybe not.

Nobody was suggesting that inexperience was a major cause of this accident. I didn't know anything about winter tyres until I was a lot older than 17. I just don't want to see the guy wipe out his replacement car when there are some simple things you can do to give yourself a better chance.

Barry Wy- i don't understand "res ipse loquitor" if I'm not mistaken it means " the thing speaks for it self" i don't follow what you mean by that.

PoPotfish winter tires dedefenetly would have had a better chance would made a difference? I don't know and I don't think anyone ever will. I am planning on getting a new S2000, and I will defently be purchasing some winter tires. Ill take suggestions anytime on which ones you rerecommend. Like i said eaearlier've taken many valuable lessons from this, the tires being one.

Thanks,
Matt

gotta love this car...

i flipped and totalled mine last month, clear roads but low temps. slowing down after passing slow traffic and it swapped ends on me. couple stitches on forehead and a scraped knuckle for me, ripped, flattened, squashed car.

already have my '04, hope this incident does not turn you off getting another one.

You are invinceable!

Not really, but it's good to see this resulting in only a smashed car and not a body bag...

I would make sure they total your car out- and maybe buy it back and sell off a lot of the parts people want/need! Just a thought...

I think being a little initimidated of the S2000 is a good thing- When I irst had mine I was bitten by not respecting the RWD. Coming from an Integra R that I could throw around- I got pretty cocky about my driving. Luckily I was safe and my car was undamaged from simply spinning around in the street a few times. But it scared me enough to learn the limitations of the car and to respect the roads and safety of others as well.

You alive =

Your White S2k trashed =

You buying an MY02 with all red interior =

You selling me your stock shiftknob off of this car =
