There is a difference. Whether you feel it or not depends on the individual. I have a dbw s2000 and have driven a ap2 cable. There is definitely a difference but is it so noticeable that the driving experience goes down the drain? No.

And I love my flashpro. Will be trying to get Gernby to tune it

Um, the dbw cars also have a cable. From pedal to box under the hood. From there its eletrons over a wire to the TB.

Point being that dbw is just as susceptible to cable breakage. DBW cable is pretty much same length as DBC.

it really doesn't matter just throwing this out there. the whole point of DBW is so the car can and does drive it's self you are just pushing a button saying please give me more power. then the car does as it programed. this is for TC and stability systems. so you can have different modes also safety like the cars that slow by them selves. new car's do this with every system now. steer them selves (lane assist). stop them selves (mostly hybrids, your just pushing on a spring).

mechanical

from what I've seen DBW sucks compared to mechanical in terms of response time for nearly every car out there. A simple DBW response time search just shows tons of issues with pretty much every car that has it.

Actually, it isn't on our s2000. There is a motor attached to the side of the throttle body. No cable there.

Why is the model year 2005/55 the best of the entire production run and most sought after???? Here in the UK it gets the cheaper tax before the 06 model but more importantly...it doesn't have this daft VSA or DBW malarkey, totally unnecessary additions... the '55my' also features the best looking alloys & honeycomb insert seats...as opposed to the solid headrest style......also worth a mention that the engines up to a 55plate are bomb proof....

No cable on the TB itself, but there is a throttle cable in the dbw cars, from the gas pedal to the black box electronics under the hood. From this box to TB, yes, that is electrical and the throttle plate is motor activated.

But there is a cable. It can potentially break, just like on DBC cars. If it breaks, car will fail to proceed, just like on DBC cars.

Many in this thread express a desire (or return) to the simplicity of all things mechanical. How about no more power assisted brakes? Ever jumped in a 60s car without it and was surprised how much force it takes to hit the brakes? How about power assisted steering? Power windows? How about power starting? Lets bring back the crank! How about windshield wiper or for that matter the windshield? Nothing like feeling the raw power of a car like a motorcyclist getting bugs in your teeth.

All things things have been discussed over the years as cars advance. I am sure similiar threads will exist when I am long gone. (However, maybe self drive vehicles will be the new normal!) That would be a good thread; lets bring back manual control of vehicles!

these 2000s are a rare sight here but in the States you lot must get some appreciative nods from other motorists? I'd love to drive mine around your way!

Last comment I got was some snarky bs from a clown riding bitch in an SC400, "Does that thing have VTAK?" I assured him it did.
