Red face Driving in Snow

Just wanted to say I had the unfortuntate luck of getting stuck the other night out and had to end up drive home in the snow and ice. I won't say the car due to the rear wheel drive was splendid in the weather in fact I had to change my route to roads that were only level no hills. She just wouldn't go up any incline. But I was very impressed with how the car on some of the snow and ice covered roads. I got home and managed to get up my driveway. By the way my car is a 2004 with different tires the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3.

No the 04 does not have that option. That had to be 05 or 06.

It is your tires. I have Dunlip Winter sport snow tires on mine and I went out in that Ice we had on the back roads and barely spun at all!

What exactly is the VSA? And what does it do? I hate having to use this car in the snow but my 94 cavalier has this little problem with only the head gasket. So that car is now a 3000 pound gargae ornament. Would having a full tank of gas during bad conditions help alot with the weight it would add or does the fuel tank not sit that close to the rear wheels? Those tires by Goodyear are Summer tires by the way.
