dropping the top without engauging handbrake

Im sure this has been talked about before, but the search thingie is not working too well.

so....can this be done?
can someone lead me to that thread?

yes, it can be done. There is a wire you disconnect under the dash on the passenger side. The only drawback is that the E-Brake light stays on if you do that. The best way is to disconnect the speed sensor. That way you only have to raise the brake one click, then you can put the top up/down while moving.

Actually the wire under the dash IS the speed sensor wire. You will need to disable that no matter what you do.

To disable the handbrake safety you would disconnect the wire attached to the base of the handle under the center console. As mentioned above the BRAKE light would stay on all the time.

I clipped the wire under the dash (takes less than 1 minute) then all I have to do is "one-click" the handbrake to make it work (the handbrake is NOT engaged with just one click so you can do it while moving.)
