Default dyno figure estimate?

Hey guys,

Ive just ordered in a HKS hi power 409 exhaust for my AP1 and i was wondering with the modifications i have below, what do i expect?

I currently have :

K&N Drop in filter
SS intake piping
Cusco catch can
VAFCII
J's Racing air duct
HKS hi power 409 cat back exhaust (soon to be fitted)

I'm not sure what i am expected to gain as i have been reading that the HKS can actually lose power and some threads where the actually gains.

Once i fit the exhaust, the VAFCII will go for a dyno tune straight away.

Im not asking for a correct figure but just a ball park figure so i sort of expect with my mods in KW or HP figure.

Depends on the dyno. Do you have a baseline number on the same dyno you will use for the next pull?

You can expect 9-12whp gain I would guess.

On a Dyno Jet I would expect you to have about 215hp/140tq on a good run. The Vafc2 will obviously do the most for you depending on how well your tuner is. Have them perform a open loop Lo Vtec ajustment too, even though you will need to reset your ecu once in a wile you will notice the response and fun in driving your car go up considerably. Mileage will go up as well which is a nice bonus.

You guys are giving too much credit to those mods...his is an early AP1...
Depending on the dyno and condition of the car (mileage, abuse, etc), expect to baseline between 185-195. With the mods, after a VAFC tune, 200-205 would be at the high end of where you should be expecting your mods to land you.
Alot has to do with your tuner's capabilities and understanding of how the VAFC2 works.

The drop in filter's effect on power is going to land within the errorbounds of the dyno, so it's effect will be nill. The piping may or may not help, but the air duct will do nothing on a dyno...it's only functional at high speeds. The catch can won't free up power either, and the exhaust may net you a few extra, but it's advantage is weight reduction...less weight on your car will make it quicker. The VAFC2 will be the power adder of your mods, but don't expect miracle gains from it. Most AP1's I've seen with comperable hardware and the VAFC2 end up somewhere in the 200-205 range, with a few weaker and stronger cars.

I wouldnt be too surprised if it even dyno'd a tad bit under 200 the only real power adders that will show up on the charts is the exhaust and the tune from the vafcII (depending on the tuner, of course)
