Try some acoustic earplugs as they block out some noise across the board, not just high or low sounds. Music actually sounds much crisper as the road/wind noise is blocked out. You can find them at large music stores, guitar centers, etc.

 

All that noise causes fatigue. Much easier to "tune-in" when wearing ear plugs.

Attenuates ambient noise, great sound. I can drive top down, keep the volume going to my ears fairly low and still hear enough around me to get out of the way of emergency vehicles.
