The one you showed in your original picture is not the same as the one you just installed. The bends and direction the piping runs is entirely different than what's shown in the early part of this thread.

trust me, its the same, the one earlier, was photo-graphed backwards. :-P i know right :-P They put the filter on the end that connects to the TB.

Aparently the people who copied this probably never installed one before.

Decker, you're with the atlanta guys right? You should have read my install writeup on a $10 new intake off of Ebay. It had the same problems. I helped a member install it just for the hell of it. Here's a link: http://www.s2katlanta.com/%7Es2katl/forum/...highlight=tales

BTW, better knock off's with the right fittings can be found for $30-$40 on ebay, you just have to know what to look for. And to all those nay sayers out there, it's pretty much the same thing. I'd bet one of my nuts that it's not any better or worse than an AEM. The bends are all the same. It's a freakin' pipe anyway, what could you screw up. The only reason AEM is so much is b/c they have to recoup R&D costs while knock off's don't. But, for what it's worth, I have an Injen on mine

I didnt mean to flame anyone....I was simply stating what I had heard about the differences in knock-off's vs. name brand intakes. If you have tried them, and they work fine, by all means, go with the cheaper one. I was just under the impression that you just picked up a cheap intake, it didnt fit right, and it had a crappy filter. I was simply stating what I have heard about the differences.

Sorry if you took offense.

John

ps - Just on a side note....you did de-burr that drill hole, didnt you? Don't want any tiny shard of aluminum going into the intake manifold.
