Electronic Problem
Hi all,
Yesterday I had the drivers' side door panel off trying to get the locking mechanism back so that it aligned with the hole in the door handle. Before this all was well with the world. After getting the key taken care of, upon first starting attempt I put the key in and turned to the "on" position, waited for the fuel pump to finish pumping and hit the starter. It gave maybe 1/8 turn and then went dead. Was able to jump it there and took it to my parents' house, shut it off, tried to start it to no avail. Pulled Dad's 4Runner around and tried to jump it, car wouldn't start. Gave in for the night and started drinking. This morning (somewhat hazy) took the battery out and got it tested-- thy guy at the parts store said it was low but not dead. It's on a charger right now outside of the car.
So what is there in the door that could cause a problem this significant? I mean, the car won't even take a jump-start anymore. I think it must have had something to do with the work on the door panel, something got pinched perhaps and is just draining the electrical system. When I put the key in and turn it to "on" a few of the warning lights come on very dimly (could only see the change in the dark) and I hear some clicks. Push the start button and more clicks.
Car is MY01 with intake/exhaust/test pipe. Also has an amp in the trunk which I disconnected when the problems started.
Thanks for the read, look forward to any ideas you might have.
Cheers!

Problem solved, guy at the auto parts store didn't know what he was doing, battery had charge but no cold-cranking power. New battery, problem solved. Going to keep tabs on the output of the battery over the next few days but seems like all is well.
Thanks for looking!
