Driver side door stuck shut

Driver side door stuck shut
Hey all, I have a 2002 Honda S2000, and the strangest thing happened yesterday. I got in my car, backed it out of the garage, shut the engine off, removed the key from the ignition and attempted to get out of the vehicle. However, my driver side door was stuck shut. I could not get out with the key in or out of the ignition. I had to drop the top and jump out of the vehicle. I then put the key in the exterior lock and turned it in the "unlock" position. With the key manually turned to the unlock position, my door opened from the inside and outside. The door will NOT open from the inside or out without the key being turned in the unlock position. Any suggestions as to what the problem might be? Thank you!

I'd say one of your lock bars has become detached - have you had the door panel off recently?

Had a similar problem with my ep3 civic, if sat in the car and try to open it with the handle it wouldn't do anything,
I took the door panel off and all it needed was a little blue clip which should of been connected to the cable that opens the door and to the door handle. It had broken on one corner so that the cable was not connected to the handle and therefor didn't open.
If it is the same problem very cheap easy fix. The part will cost about £2 from Honda

Thanks all! I in fact took the door panel off last night and learned the little plastic "lock" device had snapped. So in essence, my car door was stuck in the locked position. As a quick fix, I used some cement glue until I can get the part from Honda. For anyone who's wondering, that little plastic piece only costs $10 thru Honda. Good news all around!!
