I just got an OEM engine...

The fact that a higher than 13.0 compression reduces engine's lifetime made me choose the OEM 2.0lt engine. But on a later stage I might get a second S and then the existing one will go under some serious modding (J's Engine / weight reduction etc). I just need to have an S under my hands!

When you modify an engine there are a lot of things to keep in mind. There have been many refererences in this thread to overheating. Any mods that effect the air fuel ratio can cause dramatic changes in combustion chamber temps and temps in the heads and valves. After market companies don't test engines to destruction like the manufacturer. They don't have to insure the engine will run for 150.000 miles. They only have to show nice dyno gains and that the engine will run for a few months. That is why really good aftermarket mods are so expensive. Some companies do put effort into making sure their mods will still provide reliability over time. Some even provide warranties with their products. They are few and far between in the S2000 community however. Always mod at your own risk and make sure you have the money in the bank to repair the damage that may come. I just boosted the 91 300zxtt I have from 300 HP to 420. I know there will be a price to pay for that at some point however this is an engine that has been around for a long time and is know to be very reliable up to 500HP. Still I chose a very conservative tune and kept the boost lower then they say the engine can handle. Remember that any ECU mod or anything that changes the Air Fuel ratio's can have a dramatic effect on engine life.

F20c's are dropping like flies over here in Florida

I can think of about 6 motor rebuilds including my own in the past 6 or so months
