Thumbs up Engine Noise Question

We took the S2000 out today and when we came home and up the incline of my driveway, I stopped, put it in 1st and rev'ed a little to launch nicely up the driveway. At about 2000 rpm with no load on the engine I noticed a slight rapping noise (almost like a rod knock). I then stopped and held the engine at about 2500 and as long as it was held at a steady rpm, I could hear the noise.

The car has only 150 mile on it. The oil level is perfect. Is this normal, or do I take to the dealer? Tell me it's normal.

Thanks

Difficult to say without being there but it doesn't sound as though it's really abnormal. If your really concerned you could find another stock '05 and see if it sounds similar. I'd be reluctant to let the dealer touch the car unless your absolutely sure you have a problem.

My recommendation would be to keep a close eye on the oil level and let the engine break in. Maybe check the noise against another S2000 once you hit 1000 miles.
