hmm... I never realized when I posted this thread that I was advocating people going out and buying test pipes to offend all of the tree huggers that are posting in here by telling people to take a look at their rear bumpers if they already have a test pipe.

I have a hunch that an S2000 with test pipe might put out less emissions than a regular V8 SUV. I may be wrong, but anyone have the answer?

Anyone have check engine light problems with the install of a test pipe? How much louder is the S with it installed and what is the power gain? I have the HKS hi power dual exhaust with AEM CAI and Apex i controller.
Thanks.

Hey, you can use a mechanical o2 sensor fix as s2000craze mentioned. You can do this buy buying two spark plug non-foulers, screw one into the testpipe, and then drill out the second one slightly before screwing it into the testpipe with your 02 sensor. I have an HKS exhaust on my car now and with the testpipe it sounds perfect. It gives your exhaust a little more of a rumbling sound instead of just the same monontone sound. It changed the exhaust note slightly, definately for the better IMO, without really increasing the loudness. I would recommend it sound wise for the HKS . Also, you will see a few HP increase from a testpipe, nothing too crazy, but it helps.

Xclusive thanks for the input. I enjoy the deep smooth tone I am getting but I wouldn't mind some rumble that you mentioned. The good thing about the S is that the exhaust generates a sporty sound not some farty buzzing like my old focus. I just want to keep people wondering,"Thats a four cylinder??" Do you have headers? What is the sound diff. those create? Streetfire.net has some good vids of the S2000 kind of gives me some ideas.
