The exhaust was one of the first mods I wanted to make to my car and ended up being almost the last because I couldn't find the right combination of semi-quiet, lightweight and not stupidly expensive. I finally decided on the T1R single. A&J Racing usually has 'em in stock, it's pretty inexpensive ~$650?, isn't too loud and weighs 31lbs less than stock.
i would say T1R get my vote as well. Good sound, great power gain and nice looking too.

[QUOTE=Hyper-X,Oct 1 2004, 03:32 AM]I'd rather go to Home Depot and make my own using squared rain gutters and make my own custom exhaust.

I'd then weld a good ol' Maxwell Coffee Can powdercoating it black as my tip.

I wouldn't say that the sound is a benefit on an R1000. In fact, it's a bit of a nuisance.
Ahh, the battle between performance and db's sometimes entales a sacrifice...

A couple things about exhausts:

I don't think anyone will argue that the single exhausts provide the best performance when comparing single vs. dual.

I don't think anyone will argue that the single exhausts are lighter than dual.

Sound is a major factor in any exhaust I would buy. I don't want my car to sound like it is constantly farting.

Lastly, looks are important as well. Exhaust pipes should not be blue on a car. On a bike yes, on a car NO! They should have a shine of polished stainless steel. Blue exhaust tips or pipes appear as if the system was poorly designed and can't handle the heat . . thus it is discoloring. It looks ridiculous!!

The R1000, IMO sounds horrible!!! It also looks unfinished and unprofessional. Having said that . . . the R1000 is an AWESOME performer!!!! So, this is a matter of what is important to the individual. And also, a matter of personal taste. Some people, for whatever totally crazy reason, want an exhaust that looks like it is 112 years old with zero shine. But that is their taste and they probably think a shiny exhaust is hideous.

Of all the single exhausts, I think the best sounding is the Spoon N1. IT is very light (around 18 lbs) has a rolled edge (which should be a requirement -- without it, the exhaust looks unfinished) and has a nice polished shine.

Of the dual exhausts . . . . .it is definitely the CompTech. There is no doubt, IMO that it sounds awesome, looks great, is backed by a great company, and has quality that will last.

Unhappy

Listening to people rant and rave about which exhaust is better is worthless, you should attend one of the bigger meets in your area and compare that way This is how I decided on the Spugen V2 dual Ti exhaust.
