Extrude/Hone Before and After...
After getting my intake manifold back for the second time in 2 months and spending an outrageous $400 (better spent on 1 1/3 rear tires), here are the results with commentary to follow
Before picture (you are looking at the inside of the intake runners)

Here is the "after"...

Okay, now for the commentary: I had horrible customer service from Extrude/Hone in Irwin, PA. Pepe used their Ca shop and had better service. Second, I'm sure this one mod will do little for performance... I just figured along with my throttle body bore it would squeeze every last hp out of my supercharger. $400.00 for the service --> ridiculous. Removal of the intake manifold --> ridiculous.
Bottome line... not worth it
... But knowing the inside of my intake manifold is as smooth as a baby's bottom is some comfort when driving around town (and maybe worth ~ $5 - $10 of the $400 spent)

Damn, that looks beautiful! But too bad it was such an expensive headache...
So you noticed nothing whatsoever. I was a little surprised at how rough the inside of the 'before' shot was. I wouldn't expect a big perf gain, but maybe a little nudge somewhere in the powerband.
But thanks for the findings!

Greg,
I haven't installed it yet... I'm going to go do that now. It's hard for me to notice gains/modification because I won't be driving my car until a few other mods get put on. Instead of seeing every little change, the first time I drive my car in ~4 months will be with the throttle body bore, Extrude/Hone, Mugen Headers, BYS cat straight pipe, Comptech supercharger, Comptech exhaust, and custom dual-filtered cold air intake... so I will have ABSOLUTELY no idea what the Extrude/Hone actually did... It just makes me feel better knowing it was done (If I can ever get my engine back together that is)

Pepe could speak better to the gains.....but it seems you spoke or at least knew where he got his done. He said it made a big difference in torque....more than the TB but close.
He says he has gotten rid of the lack of low end torque with doing FPR/Mugen headers/TB/Hone intake/HKS exhaust....and a few other things but those were the biggies! He tells me he pulls much harder out of corners now.
PS: For sure you will have a rocket on your hands!!!!! Better get 10" wide tires to tame that beast! Its gonna look like Viper tires if you wanna keep that back end planted.

Without any comments about how crazy I would be, is this a job someone can do for themselves? Say, a Dremel tool and a lot of time? I'd like to smooth mine out, but can't see throwing $400 at it if I can handle the job myself. I would certainly take it VERY slow, but is it reasonably possible?

MacGyver,
This isn't simply a polish of the inside... Extrude/Hone takes a thick abrasive polymer and forces it trough the intake over and over again at high pressure taking the path the air would, which removes casting markes + polishes. I don't think this would be possible with a dremel. Not only would it be difficult to get the tool and your hand inside but there's no way to get the inside that smooth.
I would just leave the intake alone... If you REALLY want to do it, send it to their CA facility...

Shaner,
Good enough answer for me. I was going to use one of those flexible shafts attached to the Dremel for those hard to reach spaces, but if you guys don't think it can be done, I'll take your word for it. At least now I know how the honing process is done...
Thanks guys!
