I just got the Gauge Type Controler wideband.....I'm trying to find out if It needs to be calibrated or its ok from the box? also I want to know when I'm supposed to be checking my a/f ratios...everytime or just at WOT.....?

If you're using a wideband just to monitor the a/f its pretty useless. Under part throttle its in closed loop so it will stay close to stoich ~14.7. Under WOT if you're running nitrous by the time you see it lean out and react the damage will be done.

The wideband is a tuning tool. I had a UEGO wideband with my AEM EMS to datalog and tune with it.

monitoring the a/f without datalogging and tuning while you're driving is pointless.
