Someone please tell me. I am reading all this about the F and K series motors. Why hasn't a SINGLE person mentioned the H22 used in the prelude? Did this engine not exhist and I am crazy?

i dont think hondata will make an 06+ ECU with a 9000rpm redline. unless they only offer it to 00-03 S2000 owners.
K-Pro, the "daughterboard" that Hondata will make, will allow you to set the redline to whatever you want.

Damn, I was going to post something useful... but let's lock it up... the feeling is gone.

i think the point of this thread is that i-vtec > vtec. more midrange is not a bad thing.
That was exactly the point I was trying to make. Unfortunately things took a turn for the worse.

K's can also make 500+whp on stock internals, maybe not on pump but its still 500whp+.
That is one of the most ridiculous statements I have heard. Could it make 500whp on stock internals? Maybe...but then watch it immediately break. It has been thoroughly discussed that the stock internals are good for 350-400whp on a perfect tune. Exceed that power, or have a crappy tune, and watch the motor destroy itself.

Now I do wish there were some sort of "F-Pro" for our motor that is comparable to the K-Pro that's available for the K20A2. That's truly a great tool to have, and could unlease a lot of potential power if it were available, especially for those that are running forced induction.
If you read one of my previous posts, you will see that Hondata will be making a version of K-Pro for the '06 S2000, since Honda finally made the ECU programmable.

The H22 was a decent engine, but nowhere near as technologically advanced as the F- or K-series.

... H series was junk.... in comparison to B and K. Everybody I knew with ludes had problems, all the Techs I know say the Prelude was Japans payback to us for the atomic bomb. (jokingly) That motor was very quirky and seemed to have lots of issues in comparison to its B series counterpart of the day.

any more info on this?

the numbers don't match up correctly for the psi and the whp being put down on the stock compression.
http://forums.clubrsx.com/showthread.php?t...ighlight=515whp

The car was tuned by "st00pid" if that helps.
Somehow, he managed to squeeze 540whp (i think.. it was 500+ though) out of a stock block H22A.

"I just did a compression test on the engine..

160, 160, 158, 160

Its too hot right now and Im too lazy to do a leakdown right now.. The compression numbers are the same as what we had from day one, before the turbo." -st00pid

wow... that's interesting news. Anywhere we can read about this? Admittedly, I haven't kept up with the 06 update threads. Depending on the types of gains, this could be a huge mod for earlier models, especially the 00/01 that run rich.
