I've read the SKUNK2 ΙΝΤEGRA DC2 run the 1/4 mile at 9.6 sec with a N/A K24A engine.

The K20A has upgrade cams, intake manifold, LSD and ECU. None of this means squat if you plan on modyfing the engine because each one of these items will be upgrade sooner or later.
wow.. you totally just supported me, without realizing it. Thanks

The compression ratio is also different between K20A and K20A2, and it's not just the head gasket.

The 2006 RSX Type S still has the K20Z1. It's rated different for 2006 but it is the exact same engine.

The K20 does have higher compression as mentioned, due to its 11.5:1 compression pistons. The gearing is also different, pretty dramatically from the 02-04, not sure how different from the 05+ though.

I was at Church's Automotive Testing last Monday and Doug from Hondata was there. I told him that I was going to be getting an '06 S2000 and asked why Hondata hadn't made K-Pro for the S2000. He said it was because Honda had made the ECU non-programmable. However, for the '06 S2000 Honda changed their ways and is making the ECU programmable. Doug said that Hondata will be getting an '06 S2000 from Honda within the next month or so and will immediately begin working on a K-Pro for it.

I have ZERO reasons to lie about this. If you have any doubts contact Hondata.
I will take your word for it. Good to hear.

If Hondata does make a programmable ECU, wouldn't it aptly be named F-Pro, opposed to K-Pro?

AGAIN. STOP COMPARING CARS. Some of us would just like to compare and contrast engine designs. Wisconsin and Dark Sub Rosa both gave good reasons on why they think one engine design is a better design than the other...and I think they both make good points.
I don't think my argument was out of place. I don't feel like going back and quoting, but there were several more people referring to the CAR. When you talk about the K20X, it is implied that you are talking about the RSXS, however. The point I was trying to make is that it does not matter if that motor is more easily tuned, because you have to spend a couple grand just to get it up to par with the F out of the box. In essence, the F is already tuned well. Both engines are comparable, and each has its' own positive attributes.

I just think it's silly that some people seemed to actually be upset over our F not being "as good" as the K.

right, and that article was debunked as completely false and untrue. i remember the thread. everything according to honda and according to Daniel F Carney's book (which quotes and gets the information mostly from honda) has said the engine was designed from the ground up.

it is not based off the F20B in any way, shape, or form. that article was proven false and blatently incorrect.

K20a3 is also the base model RSX engine code.

If the '06 S2000 ECU will be programmable, it will only be a matter of time before us AP1 owners will be asking hondata for a <2004 swap with 9K redline feature.

i dont think hondata will make an 06+ ECU with a 9000rpm redline. unless they only offer it to 00-03 S2000 owners.
