I went with a 4.44 in my AP2 and I dont know where people say there is no difference because I could tell a great deal of difference when I got them installed. I have driven a 4.44 and a 4.56 gear cars. I can honestly say there is alittle difference but very small. They pretty much felt the same to me. I went with the 4.44 because of price and alot of highway driving. I dont regret that mod at all.

What are the misconceptions if you don't mind me asking
The fact that rpms will be too high cruising at 75mph?
The misconception is that people think you'll be tached up extremely high on the highway. I just sold my 4.77 diff and the person that was taking my car for a spin was concerned about highway cruising. Afterwards, he stated that he wouldn't have known that the car even had gears unless someone told him. He then mentioned that he would buy the diff and noted that he was dissapointed driving his car with 4.1 home afterwards

4.77s are only 300 rpms more in 6th gear than 4.57s. At 75 mph, you'll only be around 4500 or so. Stock would be like 3800 or so.

I posted a thread about getting 4.77 gears a few days ago. After some consideration, I'm waiting and getting 4.44s.

The bottom line is that 4.77 gears are just as far from 4.44 as 4.44 is from stock... it's a BIG difference. I drove around in 5th gear on the freeway just because it's fairly close to the 4.77 sensation... it was WAY too much for me.

You are reffering to an AP1 right?
