You know, anyone shopping based solely on a single spec is either really focused or clueless (or trolling). Generally it's the latter from what I've seen. Driving experience is so much more than just HP, torque, etc.

Thread just goes to show: never say never.

You need to review cars in the S's price range. It's definitely not the fastest but faster than most. Perhaps you meant very slow for its class?
Yeah. Cars in the S2K's price range aren't all faster than the S.
For its class, the S2K currently competes with Porsche Boxster/Cayman, BMW Z4, Nissan 350Z, etc.
With those cars, the S isn't all that slow. It keeps up with the best of them in a straight line, destroys them in the twisties, and lasts longer than any of those carmakers can ever imagine their cars will last. Some guy in the SoCal boards recently took his 2000 S2000 up to 200,000+ miles. A Porsche's engine breaks down at any given moment; BMW offers free maintenance because their cars are prone to stop working at any time; and I'm not sure if Nissan has any cars that still run like new even past 100,000 miles.

What Chris S is trying to say, without violating posting policy, is that being stereotypical on cars and makes offers no value to the board and just shows you to not know what you are talking about.

Porsches don't brake "on a whim", in fact they have a solid reputation as one of the few cars you can track on Sunday and drive to work on Monday, being excellent track stars and daily commuters.

BMWs don't offer free maint because the product "just stops working" - its a premium marque and you will see other makers do the same thing if you remove your blinders. Nissans also have good reps for running over 100k miles. If anything, they have weak brakes.

I bought an 08 350Z in March but traded the Z for S2000 a month ago. S2000 doesn't have the torque but it's a much lighter car so it doesn't really feel much slower than the Z. Reason i got the S2K is becuase #1 Smooth Transmission #2 Love the short shift #3 better built quality #4 better handling than the Z #5 Love the VTEC sound #6 FUN TO DRIVE
I still miss my Z every now and then but i don't think about the Z at all as soon as i start driving the S.

My friend and I went down to the local Honda dealership that happens to be right down the street from my place. I actually didn't expect to find any there but figured what the hell.... to my surprise they had " 9 " on the showroom floor! There were about 4 yellow, 2 blacks, 2 Silvers and 1 Red. 3 of them were new 2000 models, but they were reluctant to drop much off of MSRP.

We ended up taking the red one out w/only 63 miles on the odometer. I got to drive the thing hard (sorry to the next owner) and was very disappointed with the lack of power even way up past V-tec land. The car just made alot of noise but didn't really go anywhere.

I did like the handling of the car though. Inspiring... shitty stock clutch though.

All in all I honestly expected more from the car. I'm in no way flaming the car or any of their owners, but I now have a even harder time believing all of the Street Encounters stories posted.

Just my (nobody) observation.

Rob
you're a joke bro.

You're completely clueless and ignorant. I think most of your OPINIONS OF WHICH YOU THINK IS FACTS are incorrect. 9 years ago when the S was first introduced, it was very fast and set new standard for mid $30k sports car. This is 9 years later where most if not all our competitors have caught up and surpass us. The S is no longer dominant as it use to be so you need to learn and except that. I'm not talking down to the S, but for you to make claim that stock vs. stock against lol cayman/boxster which is a ridiculous comparison and of which we can keep up, again lol of your ignorant.

How long have you own ur S for? You have only been here for 86 days and making all bs claimed. Is this what some of the members are referring to when they said new guests/members are pulling this forum down?
