Finally got to drive a S2K. Too Slow....

My friend and I went down to the local Honda dealership that happens to be right down the street from my place. I actually didn't expect to find any there but figured what the hell.... to my surprise they had " 9 " on the showroom floor! There were about 4 yellow, 2 blacks, 2 Silvers and 1 Red. 3 of them were new 2000 models, but they were reluctant to drop much off of MSRP.
We ended up taking the red one out w/only 63 miles on the odometer. I got to drive the thing hard (sorry to the next owner) and was very disappointed with the lack of power even way up past V-tec land. The car just made alot of noise but didn't really go anywhere.
I did like the handling of the car though. Inspiring... shitty stock clutch though.
All in all I honestly expected more from the car. I'm in no way flaming the car or any of their owners, but I now have a even harder time believing all of the Street Encounters stories posted.
Just my (nobody) observation.

I realize this is a 7 year old thread, BUTTTT it's funny because the OP is flaming S2000s saying they are slow and pointless... 7 years later, look what I found!!!1!

The first time I drove a VTEC engine I thought it was pretty damn slow too, I was used to driving high-torque v8's. It took a few days of driving it before I figured out how to keep the revs up near VTEC crossover all the time, and that's when I learned to appreciate it's high-revving goodness.
so nothing to say about fit and finish, materials used, reliability history top down experience, or things of that such? just some comments about it seems to handle nice (duh) and its lacking straight line acceleration (duh).
very informative post. i would have never known that....
woulda b more cool to read what you learned from the test drive (something small that you didn't like or did like such as "dang the blind spot with the top up is horrible!")
another pointless thread (tho super old one!)
