When i bought my car i took it for a test drive and knowing how the car works i revved it up hitting 5k before shifting at first just to get the feel of it. The salesmen asked me why i rev so high and i tried to explain but he was ignorant. So i revved to 9k and then he gave me a lecture about how i would tear up the car and all this. He said he shifted at 3k lol...

To me the s2k is pretty fast its probably faster than any one on the street really needs. I haven't driven anything more powerful though so im bias i guess.

How can you say the S2000 is slow, and doubt people's stories on Street Encounters when a fair majority of those people posting have in-car videos to back up their proof? It's all about the driver, which can clearly be seen here: Link
Who the hell is he talkin' to? They guys from 7 years ago? Half of them are dead by now and the OP just bought a new S2K.

could have happened within the 4 miles theoretically
but statistically less probable than any mileage above 4...

I was reading the first page and about to go to the second before I realized this is a post from 2001.

The S isn't slow after the break-in period is done. It's actually pretty fast for a 4-banger.

Yeah, I saw that.

I guess aging a bit taught him that purchasing an S would be smart.

Compare to a Miata maybe. It's very slow in it price range, but you bought the wrong car if you bought the S to go fast in the straight.

so nothing to say about fit and finish, materials used, reliability history top down experience, or things of that such? just some comments about it seems to handle nice (duh) and its lacking straight line acceleration (duh).
You know, anyone shopping based solely on a single spec is either really focused or clueless (or trolling). Generally it's the latter from what I've seen. Driving experience is so much more than just HP, torque, etc.

Thread just goes to show: never say never.

You need to review cars in the S's price range. It's definitely not the fastest but faster than most. Perhaps you meant very slow for its class?
