Yes you are supposed to remove the stock springs perches. If you don't still have your instruction sheet, you can check it out on our site http://www.comptechusa.com and look under "Installation Help".

shaner,
Yikes, you have the stock perches on? Don't worry, I don't think anything damage can result from it...after all, the stock perch holds the weight and pressure from the stock springs. I would get it corrected soon though.
Stock perches come loose with a couple blows from a rubber hammer. I would turn the shock upside down, and just use a rubber hammer to knock off the stock perch. Be careful not to do this over cement because you might ruin the threads at the top of the shock, I used a block of wood to rest the top of the shock on when I turned it upside down.

When i had mine first installed..the rear perches were still on. I dont think it will hurt anything and quite frankly had i not looked i would have never known they were there. The downside is that you wont be able to adjust the ride height as much since the perch interferes. I did have them take them off and all is well. I didnt notice any ride difference. I had mine on for about 1K miles before I noticed it.

Unicron, how many miles do you have since installing these and have you noticed any uneven tire wear b/c you lowered it? How low did you drop it? I don't suppose anybody knows how low are the Eibach springs?
