So long story short, I can't get a loan to get the 370Z i wanted to upgrade to My next choice was an S2k! price point is 20k right now so this car fits the bill nicely for something 20k and fun to drive!

Im looking for 2006 or newer cars and I had some questions I hope to get answered

Are there different engine variants that I should look out for? IE: I know the older 350Zs had two diff engines, one came with 6500RPM redline, one came with 7500RPM redline, stuff like that

Are there common issues with this car that I should look for when checking out these used cars? I can search the forums for common "help me with XXXX" posts (so before u suggest the search button!!!) I can do that, but I want opinions on what users generally think is common issue.... IE: the new Genesis coupe first came out with manual transmission issues needing the gearbox replaced-its noted on their TSB

suggestions on other forum communities to join so i can learn more about this car once i buy?

 

haha!!! read the forums before you post, and there is a search function type in AP1 and AP2

 

Test drive an AP1 and an AP2. See which one you like better.

 

2 different kinds of s2000s...one slow and one fast ; )

 

Look at the FAQs at the top of this forum and it has a section on the differences by model year.
AP1s go from 00 to 03 and AP2s go from 04 to 09. Basic difference is AP1s have a 9000 rpm engine with less torque and AP2s have an 8200 rpm engine with more torque. 06s and later add traction control and DBW.
