First time driving stick...on an S2000
learned stick on my S, test drove it with my mom in the driver seat. once we left the dealership drove it around the block (stalled it twice -__-) looked good so bought it. then learned it truly from my mom in 1 day. after that the rest is history!
My first manual drive was in a 24 foot long U-Haul from UCLA to Phoenix. Practiced in the drive-in food place across the street before I started on my trip. Bent a few canopies and scrapped one corner of the roof of the Married Student housing at UCLA. Only had to shift a few times until I got close to Phoenix, then it was a stop sign every two miles for the last 20 miles. No syncromesh, so it was very rough getting into gear with each shift. Bought a Ford Pinto to learn to drive a manual a year later. Unfortunately, the news came out that it was susceptible to fires on collisions **After** I bought the car. It was a many years later before I got the S2000. The drive home after I picked up the car was a little scary. Having said all that, get a friend to test the car, else you'll just get the impression that the car is impossible to drive.
my friends taught me how to drive a manual prior to purchasing my car. i practiced about 3 to 5 months prior to actually purchasing the car and driving home. it was the first time i ever sat in a s2000. the s2000 is one of the easiest cars ive driven so far.
