ok, so last night I walk outside to get into my S and I notice a 1/2 inch section of the top (about 2 inches back from the back of the latch that unhooks the top on the passanger side) is ripped. It wasn't there the day before and I had never noticed signs of wear so im assuming on of the neighbors cat's got on top and decided to have a little fun at my expense. Needless to say it will always be parked in the garage now.

Anyway im sure there has been atleast 100 post about this but I did a search and couldn't find what I was looking for.

My two questions are:

1. Is there a product that I can use to fix this little hole and is there anyway of covering the patch with a little paint so it doesn't stick out. Or should I just take it to a place that works on convertible tops.


2. I was looking on harttopguy.com and a new top isn't too expensive. Is It easy to put on (02 model) or a pain.

I'm not too framiliar with working on soft tops, and it doesnt seem like you are either, I would take it to a specialist but thats just me... Someone else will prolly have better advice

 

I don't believe replacing the whole top is very difficult, but it is a very time consuming job.

It it were me, I'd probably consider attempting to patch it before replacing the whole top. No use replacing the whole top if you consistently have to deal with feline "evildoers."
