Sounds like it could use some serious sun. i've only used mine twice i think. once when i got the car. another time when i got the hardtop. i wish the cover would fit with the hardtop on, then i'd actually use it.

Can you comment on any issues had with keeping the top down for long periods of time? I'm really only driving the car with the top down but am concerned with damaging the top somehow by keeping it folded for weeks (or months)--as we all know the S2000 top has its weak points and I don't want to aggravate any problems.

Thx!

My hardtop is usually on from Sept to May, so the ragtop is folded all that time. Never have had a problem with the softtop and it's now 14 years old.

I replaced the elastic straps with Modfry's east to install ones about 3 years ago and I am thinking I will do it again. It is important that the top folds down correctly to begin with. Many complain the tonneau cover is difficult to fit; in almost all cases it is because the top is not folded correctly. I have a "tray" sized piece of 3M Thinsulate that just rests on the plastic top tray that does not even interfere with the folded top. (It works to help keep the noise down)

I use Raggtopp for vinyl. Some like 303. I also went over the interior (even though mine is a 2009) with a fine tooth comb to find any possible sharp spots that might contribute to top damage. I did add some synthetic cloth repair pieces to act as a shield in areas that slide over tubes under tension. Got it at Wal Mart in the craft section. Has its own adhesive. Black.

The sun damage can accumulate over time; with the tonneau cover doing its job, I use a pop out sunshade to protect the seats (and keep them cooler too) when I park top down. It folds in a snap and slides behind the pax seat.

The top is not damaged by being folded for long periods unless you are talking about many years in storage. In that case leave the top up.
The wrinkles that may appear go away shortly with a wash and exposure, especially the sun.

Awesome and great to know--since I use the car only sparingly on weekends I don't ever really need to wash it (I just dust/use detail spray after driving) and I have a feeling once I have the tonneau on, I'm not going to want to fiddle and take it off

One other thing that I found that helps getting the cover off. My hands have a hard time snaking underneath the stiff cover and pull the snaps to release them. I found that using plastic trim removal tools (that have a little "V" cut in the end) make it east. I use that to actually lift the snap. Cheap at Harbor Freight or anyplace really.
