I don't mind Vdubs or it's owners. What I do mind, are RWD staggered wheels on FWD cars.
at thatpete remember the time when we got flamed by the 3 guys in the little ranger
The Honda VS Vdub thing has been going on for a long time (a lot longer than F&F). Most of it comes from the drag strip where the VW guys had lots of clout for a long time (and still do at lots of tracks) when Hondas started showing up and giving them a run for their money. That's were a lot of the hatred stemmed from (granted there were some VW's the Hondas never got close to.... at least at Terminal Island back in the days)
I dont care for many Euro's I do like some but IMO VW's are overpriced and there too heavy. Audis I like some of them, but overall not too impressed either (yes I have driven some). BMW & Mercedes both get
, but VW/Audi I'll pass
.
For the record I'm not saying they are slow or they suck, i'm just saying most of their models do not appeal to me in the slightest.

They are just mad becasue a 4 banger can hang with their VR6 or turbo charged motors.
Never liked VW's due to the reliablity and the "OMG I own a VW" mentality. It is like a mini BMW, in terms of the "attitude" you get when you buy one.
Honda keeps it fresh - simple cars that work unlike VW (no pun intended)

I'm 33 and started seeing what I would consider the rice versions of the VW (slammed gti/obligatory 5 star wheels/body kits) when I was in Hi School...well before the Civic/Integra/Accord mafia moved to town.
I used to have a GTI and still miss it to this day. Worse plastics but otherwise better material elsewhere.
When I had my GTi, it was mostly civics that would come up and taunt me. I would just ignore it. It was annoying and at times dangerous. Funny thing is with the s2k, I get challeged less, but its still the civic crowd mostly.
I think the issues most people have with Hondas are not s2000s, more civics and that crowd. I don't mean a flame war as many of you came from civics, but with age come maturity.
On average I would say that the average VW owner tends to be a bit more mature, but it could also be bec the cars cost more than civics. Same story for s2ks.
Just my 2 cents on it.

I had a Jetta scream, "VW over HONDA!!" as they attempted a ricer fly-by. The light turned red, we were next to each other and I yelled over, "VW? Over this?? are you serious?? and started laughing" He sunk down in his seat and his GF wouldn't look at me, needless to say he didn't try anything when the light turned green.
I'm not into companies started by the Nazi party.
