i do valet and i've seen a lot of worn keys in my time. i'm a little worried for the wear on the rubber and the screw that holds down the key blade. I've seen lexus keys (the somewhat recent ones with the key blade and fob all together) with the same design as this aftermarket one, one little screw hold the blade. it tends to break due to a lot of abuse turning the key in the ignition.

I actually ordered one because i needed a spare, plus i'd like to conserve the oem key and fob as long as possible.

i'm sure if you bought another key and had to get it reprogrammed at honda, they might do it for free. Just tell them you don't know if it works or not. My brother has an 05 accord and did the switch with the acura TL key. Honda said they would do it for free just to see if it worked.

p.s. I'm in Too!

why not get a flip key with a transponder built in? If i wasn't installing a Clifford 50.5x on mine gotten one that looks factory.

our key's are not cheap to replace, last thing you want to do is hack it up.

have you checked how much "honda" "acura" remotes cost?

you can find a "aftermarket" flip key with transponder built in, all you need is your stock remote guts and have the key cut.

Just do a search on ebay for "honda flip key" there are many out there that have the factory look and have built in transponders.

Do your search and find me the honda flip key that has a transponder in it. Then find me the one that is compatible with the S2000's transponder AND remote system. If you find it, I'll send you a delicious cookie.
