I am paying about $810/6mo from Farmers, but I have multiple cars, own my home/have homeowners policy with them, etc so I get a shit load of discounts.

Just got off the phone with Geico. They quoted me $3080/6 months with my 2 tickets. They did tell me it would go down to $1419 when one of the tickets goes away, but that's still not going to beat Mercury. Thanks for the tip though. It's interesting seeing the wide range of rates you get from different insurance companies. They obviously use different criteria in determining their rates.
Geico did have a real neat feature on their website though. You click on a picture and they call you on the phone!! Totally convenient way to get a quote.

$3080/6 months?! That must've been a typo, right?

I think you guys and gals are getting raped. In NY, I was paying $800/year from Reliance Direct, now owned by Kemper. That's full coverage, with 250/500 deductables. In Texas, I now pay closer to 1000/year.

That's with no tickets, one accident. I don't have their number handy, but you may want to try this site:
http://www.ekemper.com/home_red.htm

good luck.

I use the same company and insure the S2K and my Toyota 4x4. $576.00/6 mos
Also $7.00 / mo for 100K mechanical breakdown-service coverage.

Beware Strike, Geico is EXTREMELY hostile to those who use radar detectors, apparently if you have one, you are a criminal in their eyes, end of story.

I had GEICO years ago. The rates were very reasonable. Got hit in 2 separate accidents (I was not moving in either (sitting at a stop light and then stopped at a stop sign).

My rates went up 4X even though I was not at all liable in either.

Problem with Geico is that you are ok till you have a problem. Then you have to search for a new company and at that time others may not want to take you on.

After I left Geico I went to Liberty Mutual and have been there for years with no problems on claims.

Hey, Guys. Don't go with Geico. They are the one who donate laser guns to Highway Patrol. You pay very low rate for no accident. Once you have accident, (weather your fault or not) They will raise your rate regardless. So, why are we paying insurance for not doing anything wrong? I know, I know, just in case you killed somebody or injure someone bad. but, deep inside my heart I am still mad at that.

I got Reliance also. They filed bankrupt this year. but, they were also got bought by someone else. so, that is a relief for me. They also cover me doing Driving school on the track. If you are going to bring your car to the track. Better varify with your insurance agent and have him sign it. so, just in case if you wreck the car. They are liable paying the damage.

I've been meaning to call my insurance company because mine went up, too. I guess that it was because of this. My difference, however, was only $22 for 6 months at 21st century.
