I agree with you, Rick. USAA's one of the best. I have my S2000, my Jeep GC & my homeowners with them. They might not be the cheapest (although certainly competitive) but their service is excellent. Luckily, my dad was in the military for a while, so we get to reap the benefits!

Wow! Some of you guys and gals must be significantly younger than I am. I couldn't believe some of the rates quoted. I have Nationwide, have had them for 10 years, no wrecks, and my last ticket was 8 years ago (believe me, it's not because I drive slowly). I pay about $370 / 6 months.

This being said, I'll probably get a ticket tomorrow.

Here is what i found after much research. Obviously it only applies to my particular situation, but i will list the details so you can see how close you compare.

Me and My situation.
30 y/o single male, home owner with a spotless record. Insuring Stook and '89 CRX Si, both garaged. CRX listed as daily driver, Stook as pleasure vehicle. Residence in Connecticut.

My coverage for Stook:
$50/$100K with $250/$1000 deductible
$50k unisured motorist
$1000 medical coverage, full glass, rental and towing coverage.

My coverage for CRX Si:
$50/$100k Liability only
$50k uninsured motorist

Price quotes: (hold on)
Reliance Direct: $1,505 per year
Travelers: $3,046 per year
Windsor Select: $2,320 per year
Esurance: $1,687 per year
Metropolitan: $1,554 per year
Progressive (web): $3,840 per year
Progressive (phone): $2,692 per year
Progressive (agent): $2,146 per year
Amica: $1,116 per year
State Farm: $1,510 per year
Nationwide: $1,444 per year
Geico: $1,438 per year
Avomark: $1,576 per year

Can you beleive there is a $2,724 difference between the highest and the lowest quote!!??
I'm sure glad i spnt some time looking around

i just got a quote today on my 2001 s2000 so i'll know what to expect when i switch my policy in may.

i'm 21.. spotless record. $144.50/ a month.

if i keep my civic and use the s2000 as a weekend car. $206/ a month total.
i think thats probably the best price i'll get at my age.

Listing the s2k as a second car and keeping a beater around definitely saves on premiums, so for those of you who have only the S2k, but can park another car, you should look into that as an option. (just ask if you were to say by a 1990 civic or something...call and quote it. You may be surprised...I was when I got a quote for less than $50 difference in keepin 2 cars vs just the S2k when I was single.

I think I have the best price in the world.....I'm 20, I have two cars, 2000 Eclipse GT and a 2000 S2000, I only pay 975 dollars every 6 months for both cars. By the way I go through USAA. If I went through State Farm, I'd be paying more than triple that.
