Strike,
Since you alreday got your insurance for the year, I'm a little too late to suggest anyone. I have a great insurance agent that gets me the best rates. I have two cars, so I get the multi-car discount, plus I have a spotless record. I pay around $700/6 months for both cars.
I used to be with Mercury, but when I got into an accident that wasn't my fault, they raised my rates a LOT. My new insurance company is great. My whole family switched over from Mercury. My sister got into an accident that was her fault shortly afer she switched, but they really took care of her and her rates didn't go up that much at all.
Next time you're looking for insurance, send me a PM and I can hook you up with my agent.

Right now my insurance is $205 a month (I pay monthly) with Nationwide. I also have my house with them, and its a little over $400 a year for the homeowner's insurance. My insurance has been going down about $10 a month for the past 2 months, I hope it keeps going down!
WOW!!! Reading thru some of these posts, I see folks paying quite a bit for their insurance. Currently, I pay $450ish every six months! In fact, my wife's Accord EXVL is $20 more every six months!
My wife's driving record is spotless and I think I had a ticket about three years ago (crossing fingers and knocking on wood)!!!
I have Traveler's Indemnity Insurance. Cars, House and Life!!!
Very happy with them! And to think that next year my rates should drop some more!!! I'll turn 25 and I've heard that rates drop during this time??? Not sure if it's true or not!
Here's something funny. . .an Insight is more to insure than an S2000!!!

[B]I don't see many people (if any) using AAA. They seem to have the best rates aroung - plus you get lots of freebies and discounts. Also, they do everything for you that you would normally have to go to the DMV for - like plates, registration, license, etc. Although I've got two cars and the house insured through them, the insurance for my S2K works out at only $685 a year. I recommend you check them out!
I've got AAA. Have used them since I got my license more than a dozen years ago. I don't think their rates are the best, in fact, I know I can get the same insurance for a little cheaper elsewhere. However, their service is the best. I insure my house, etc. with them as well.
By the way, it is my understanding that rates in general have or are going to go up this year compared to last. Just across the board.
Finally, for those of you lucky enough to not live in CA, you should know that we take it particularly hard in the shorts when it comes to insurance. Same coverage, same person, same everything in Scottsdale, AZ for example would be a hell of a lot cheaper than what I pay here in S.CA.

another single 30 year old californian here with AAA for my two cars and home. Just received and paid my renewal this week... $1200 a year with a clean record for my 4runner and S2000, both garaged. The 4runner is a whopping $400 a year as the primary vehicle 15k miles a year and the S2000 is "pleasure only" vehicle for $800 a year at 5k miles a year. Not bad rates - and they do offer great customer service and benefits...I haven't been to a dmv office for years now.
The only company which seems to be much better is USAA, but I don't have a military background...

I pay $660 every 6 months for my Isuzu pickup (beater/everyday driver) and my s2000 (pleasure).
I'm 24 and have not had a ticket in the past 4 years. Yeah, I just knocked on wood
Had no problems with Nationwide (the agent is pretty cool too!), and when I added the truck, my insurance actually dropped. I thought that was neat.
