What a douche bag! he wrote you a ticket for breaking the law? He was nice enough to write you a fix it ticket. You should be grateful. People need to stop blaming the cops for doing their job. If you don't like the law then do something about getting it changed, or move to a state that doesn't require it. Cops these days have so much nerve!

Well I got to laugh reading this.

I run without plate. The law only requires it be on display. It would be legal in your front window. Would that meet the fix it?

I got an email a day ago and it said the CA police/CHP were going to crack down more on all types of regulations. Most likely due to the budget. I think they may have even raised some of the fines.

Front windshield is even more dangerous than just not having it. In an accident that flying piece of sheet metal can do some serious damage since it is just sitting in there. And it is easier for cops to spot a bright white thing in your windshield, if you don't run one at all then cops may think you are out of state.

It happened around 2 30 in the morning the cop and i the only ones on the streets.

You got a ticket because you weren't following the law, regardless of whether the cop was a d-bag or had anything better to do.

I don't know about wherever you live, but most places do not accept a plate sitting in the window. The laws generally specify several other things, such as; The plate needing to be attached in a permanent manner(screwed into place), must be legible from a specified distance......

I got my ticket for no front plate back in September (on 237). I have been running with this tow hook mounted plate holder since. I went front plate-less for 10+ years with my modded GS400 and was never stopped.

Works well for me. Easy to put on and take off and lot's of adjustment.
